An interview with @nikakater

We sat down with new mama and Insta Influencer @NikaKater to learn more about her journey as a creator and the best of sustainable Canadian baby brands.

Baby Digest: Can you share insights into your journey as a content creator and how motherhood has influenced your work?

Nika: My journey as a content creator began out of a passion for photography and a desire to explore new local sustainably minded brands. Motherhood has deeply influenced my work. My son has sparked a newfound creativity and purpose in my work, driving me to seek out products and brands that align with our values as a family. Through my content, I aim to share our journey as a young family navigating the world of parenthood while embracing sustainability and conscious living.

Baby Digest: As a new resident of Canada, have you discovered any local baby and kid brands that have become favorites?

Since moving to Canada , I've discovered several local baby and kid brands that have become favorites. @dans_le_sac diaper bags are not only stylish but also incredibly functional, perfect for busy parents on the go. Additionally, @myecopeaco Diapers offers eco-friendly diapering solutions that prioritize sustainability without compromising on performance. Their diapers are made from renewable bamboo fibers and are free from harmful chemicals, providing peace of mind for parents and comfort for little ones. @bujjify has also caught my attention with their thoughtfully designed toys that promote learning and exploration in a safe and engaging way. And of course, @pehr offers beautifully crafted clothing made from sustainable materials, ensuring both comfort and eco-friendliness for little ones.

Baby Digest: When it comes to exploring baby products and motherhood essentials, what are some key factors you consider?

Nika: When exploring baby products and motherhood essentials, sustainability is a key factor for me. I prioritize products that are made from natural, non-toxic materials, ensuring the safety and well-being of my child. Soft, organic fabrics and eco-friendly manufacturing processes are also important considerations, as I strive to create a healthy and nurturing environment for my family. Additionally, I look for products that offer versatility and longevity, minimizing waste and maximizing value for our growing family.

Baby Digest: Attitude is a beloved Canadian skincare brand for babies that is known for its chemical- free formulas. What other clean mama and baby bath and body products would you recommend?

Nika: While @attitude_living is a Canadian skincare brand that we absolutely love and use all over our house , I've recently discovered another clean mama and baby bath and body product brand that I adore: @lolo.et.moi . Their commitment to using natural ingredients and gentle formulations has impressed me. From soothing bath washes to nourishing lotions, Lolo offers a range of products that are safe, effective, and environmentally conscious, making them an essential part of our daily routine.
