Newborn Clothes Shopping list

When getting ready for baby’s arrival we recommend buying 4-6 onesies in both the newborn and the 0-3 months age. For warm weather, we love the short-sleeve and the tank onesies from Pehr. We also love their Kimono onesies as these are very easy to put on and take off especially while the umbilical cord stump has not fallen off. These are made from a thick and soft 100% cotton fabric. Both the cotton and the dyes are organic for newborn’s sensitive skin.
For sleep, our favorite pajamas for newborn babies are from Baby Mori. We love these because the bamboo and cotton blend gives the fabric a bit of stretch so it’s easy to get baby’s hands and feet in and out. The fabric is also quite thick so they are both warm and breathable. The newborn and 0-3 month sizes come with fold-over scratch mitts (a must in the beginning weeks!). 3-5 pajamas is a good number to have on hand.
We also recommend buying a few cotton hats, mittens, and cotton, wool, or cashmere socks for the day time.
There are a million swaddles out on the market but we love the ease of the Halo velcro swaddle sleepsacks. At 2 months, we recommend switching out from these velcro swaddles to the Woolino Sleep Sack. These are brilliantly designed so one size will work from a baby from 2 months until 2 years old. The fabric is a combo of merino wool and cotton so there is great breathability and comfort for your little one.
Muslin Swaddle Blankets are also a must. We love the ones from Little Unicorn, Malabar Baby, Pehr. These are very useful and last a long time so we recommend buying 6-8 of them. Some parents like to swaddle their babies in them for sleep but they are also useful for covering the stroller on sunny days or for playtime on the floor. For dressing up and photo shoots we love baby clothing from La Coquetta and Mini Rodini (depending on if your style is preppy or funky :)
