Crib Mattresses
We chose our favorite crib mattresses based on breathability, comfort, and low chemical emissions. We believe there is no baby product that is more important to buy “green” than a crib mattress. One, your baby will spend the most time in their crib during the day and two, a crib mattress should last you for years (unlike most baby things you buy!). Our 3 favorite mattresses are:
Newton Crib Mattress. It is comfortable and incredibly breathable. The core is 90% air and 10% food-grade polymer. Plus you can wash all parts of it, even the core. Greenguard Gold Certified
Avocado Crib Mattress. We believe this is one of the more comfortable crib mattress options. There is an infant and a toddler side. Greenguard Gold Certified. These mattresses are handmade in LA from cotton, latex and wool.
Naturepedic Crib Mattress. This mattress is very well made and features an inner spring mechanism and features no glues or adhesives, no polyurethane foam. It passes flame standards without fire retardants or chemical additives. Greenguard Gold Certified
